Claude, Codex and MCP
Hand tasks to Claude straight from your to-do list
Your backlog lives in seed: the features for later, the bugs, the research. Connect Claude (or Codex, Cursor or a script) over MCP, and it can read the items you allow, park new ideas, and work on what you assign it. You approve the plan in the item’s thread; the pull request comes back linked on the task.
- $0 for unlimited notes, tasks and people
- No card to sign up
- 14 days of Pro included
How the loop works
Assign, approve, merge
01 · Assign
Pick Claude on the item
Claude appears in the assignee picker. Add a note if you like. seed starts a run of your Claude Code routine for that folder.
02 · Approve
Read the plan in the thread
Claude studies the item and the repo, then posts a proposal card. Accept it, or send it back with a note and it plans again.
03 · Merge
The PR comes back
Claude does the work and links a pull request per repo on the item. Merge it, and the item can close itself.
What a connection can do
It acts as you, inside the limits you set, and everything it writes is labelled with its name.
Only what you give it
By default it sees only items handed or assigned to it. Add read or add-only access per folder when you want more.
Park ideas from a session
“Park this in seed.” Claude creates the item in a folder it may add to, without reading anything else there.
Read the project docs
Folder docs, or Markdown mirrored from a GitHub repo, give it the context before it starts.
Proposals in the thread
Plans arrive as cards on the item. You and your team discuss them where the work is tracked.
Live status
The item shows planning, plan ready, working, PR open or done, and links to the Claude session.
Codex, Cursor, scripts
Anything that takes an MCP URL and a key can connect too. Up to 10 connections per person.
Connecting Claude
In Claude, add a custom connector with the URL https://theseedapp.com/api/mcp, then sign in to seed and choose what Claude may see. For Claude Code, Codex or Cursor you can instead create a key in seed under Settings › Connections. To have Claude work on assigned items, Settings › Connections › Set up Claude walks you through linking a folder to a Claude Code routine.
seed never holds your Claude login and never runs Claude itself. Claude connects to seed, and assigned work runs as your own Claude Code routine, on your Claude plan and its limits. Creating the routine takes a few clicks in Claude that seed can’t do for you. Nothing merges without you. This is for people already using Claude Code or Codex; if you just want an AI that plans your tasks, seed’s own agent does that with no setup.
What it costs
Connecting tools to seed is included on every plan, Free too. Free has no time limit: unlimited notes, tasks, folders and people, team chat, 25 MB of uploads and 30 AI agent requests a month. Every new account starts with 14 days of Pro, no card. Pro is $9.99/month or $99/year when you want the agent sending, booking and posting for you. Full pricing.
FAQ
Questions, answered
Can Claude Code read my to-do list?
Yes, if you connect it. Add seed as an MCP connector in Claude or Claude Code, sign in, and choose what it may see: only items you hand it (the default), chosen folders, or everything you can see.
What is an MCP task manager?
A task app that AI tools can use through the Model Context Protocol. seed exposes your items, chat, docs and proposals over MCP, so Claude, Codex or Cursor can read and update the tasks you allow.
Does seed use my Claude subscription?
No. seed never asks for or stores a Claude login. Claude calls seed, and assigned work runs as your own Claude Code routine on your own plan.
Can it open pull requests?
Claude does, in your Claude Code routine: after you accept its plan it opens a pull request per repository and links each on the item. With the GitHub webhook set up, merging closes the item.
Is it free?
Yes. Connections work on the free plan. Claude’s own usage counts against your Claude plan, not seed’s.

Feature
Notes, tasks and chat in one app
One app for notes, to-dos, Slack-style team chat, files, Google Drive and reminders, so you can retire the pile of tools you switch between.
